Habitat for Humanity of Rhode Island-Greater Providence signs partnership agreement with the Providence College Habitat Chapter
Habitat for Humanity of Rhode Island-Greater Providence has signed a new partnership agreement with the Providence College Chapter. The signing of this agreement marks the chapter’s recommitment to working hand in hand with HabitatPVD to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter with families in the greater Providence community. HabitatPVD will support the chapter in its mission to educate students, faculty, and staff about the need for decent and affordable housing options, advocate on behalf of people in need of decent shelter, volunteer through participation in Habitat’s Collegiate Challenge Spring Break program and through local construction projects, and help raise funds. For more than twenty years, Providence College has supported HabitatPVD through its active and engaging Campus Ministry service group.
“We are thrilled to partner with the PC Habitat chapter,” said Mark Kravatz, HabitatPVD’s Executive Director and a PC alumnus. “The college has one of the most active Habitat college chapters in New England with over 125 active members.
Kravatz added, “The students bring tremendous energy and commitment, and their engagement will help us to accelerate the organization’s growth strategy to meet the greater Providence community’s tremendous need for safe and affordable housing.”
